Almost every car brand out there is considering introducing a diesel option to the U.S. market in the near future.  So when we heard rumors that Kia was thinking about it as well we weren't surprised. The question is what model will they choose?

Recently it was announced that the 2012 Kia Optima might just be the car.   A website named Efficient Automobile wrote an article about the prospect of a diesel Kia.  Then, Kia posted on its Facebook asking what fans thought of the idea.  So, what was the response?

Overall, there was a positive response.  The post had 52 likes and it sparked over 100 comments.  Here is a quick glimpse at what the Kia Optima Diesel would look like.

-          1.7-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine
-          134 horsepower
-          239 lb.-ft. of torque
-          Fuel Economy: 48 miles per gallon combined on the European test cycle
-          Exterior and interior design inspired by the original 2012 Kia Optima
